This Privacy Policy explains how Epicurus ("the Bot") may collect, use, store, and process information when you interact with the Bot or when Epicurus operates in a Discord server.
By using Epicurus, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on the features enabled by a Discord server, Epicurus may process limited information provided through the Discord API.
This may include:
- Discord user IDs
- Discord server IDs
- Discord channel IDs
- Discord role IDs
- Discord message IDs
- Discord usernames or display names
- Moderation-related information
- Bot configuration settings
- Command usage information
3. Why Information Is Used
Information processed by Epicurus may be used to:
- Provide Bot functionality.
- Store server configuration.

4. Messages and User Content
Epicurus does not need to permanently store the content of every message sent in a Discord server.

If a specific feature stores message-related information, that information will be used only for the purposes required by that feature.
5. Moderation Logs
If moderation logging features are enabled, Epicurus may store information related to moderation actions.
This can include information such as:
- The user affected by the action
- The moderator who performed the action
- The type of moderation action
- The server where the action occurred
- The time of the action
- Relevant Discord IDs
- A reason supplied by the moderator
6. Data Storage
Information may be stored using databases or other infrastructure required to operate Epicurus.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect stored information from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.
However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant functionality, maintain security, comply with applicable obligations, or resolve disputes.
Server administrators may request deletion of data associated with their server where technically possible.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information collected through Epicurus.
Information may be processed by hosting providers, database providers, infrastructure providers, or other service providers necessary to operate the Bot.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect the service, prevent abuse, or protect users and other parties.
9. Discord
Epicurus operates through Discord's platform and API. Your use of Discord is also subject to Discord's own policies and terms.
Epicurus does not control Discord's handling of information.
10. Children's Privacy
Epicurus is not specifically designed to collect information from children.
Users should comply with Discord's age requirements and applicable laws when using Discord and Epicurus.
11. Your Choices
You may stop Epicurus from processing information associated with your server by removing the Bot from that server, subject to information that may need to be retained for legitimate operational, security, or legal purposes.
12. Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Epicurus changes its functionality, data practices, or infrastructure.
The "Last updated" date will be changed when material updates are made.
